Leave it. Looks aren't important, those things are under the hood.
Yup, as long as it starts, steers, shifts and stops when it's supposed to, I'm happy. I am going to replace the hood at some point in the future (once I got some $$ and I find a decent one close to that color).

Productive day!

Pulled carpet, welded in new trans tunnel section to cover the 14" x 6" hole from two different transmission setups.

Fitted another brand new carpet set, Lokar leather shift boot.

Had to go for a cruise in the beater truck.

Man, the drivability, torque and low cruise RPM of this Gen 4 6.0, LSA Supercharger and T-56 Magnum are unmatched.

This truck has had a half dozen drivetrain combinations in it, varying from an NA 337" COP SBC, Turbo 377 SBC, 6.0/80E, etc.

Absolutely nothing beats the tip in torque this truck has, I can only associate it with a roots blown big block.

Oh man, we've now entered top tier early 90s technology.

Look at that equalizer! Everything works perfectly!

Fixing to get my Boot Scootin' Boogie on like it's 1991 with this relic!

I'm talking dig-i-tal, boys!

So, i've been stuck at a power plant somewhere in Indiana for the past week. Came home to a bunch of goodies.

I originally ordered 8 D510C GM coils for $600+ and a set of bare LSA valve covers for $155. Did what I had to do to ensure no spark drop out, as I didn't want to hurt this mega dollar setup.

Did some more research, found I could order 2013 Camaro ZL1 application LSA valve covers from GM, which include 6 coils for $300. So I returned 6 out of 8 coils ordered and the bare LSA valve covers. Saving me close to $400.

Still waiting on the 2013 Camaro ZL1 PCV hose system to arrive, which should be tomorrow. Then i'll swap the valve covers, coils, pcv system and add the catch can.

I did verify my oil consumption issue fix, by disconnecting the passenger valve cover breather and allowing the engine to vent to atmosphere. A cheaper solution would've been to vent both valve covers to atmosphere. But I wanted to keep oil vapor and smell way under control with a factory style system. I've spent way too much on this setup to smell oil.

I've been working on yet another application / serviceability issue. After installing the 7" Holley dash, I wasn't happy with how vertical it was mounted, along with the dash insert not fitting perfect. Regardless of how much filing / fitting i've done. So I did some research and found a dash mounting solution that requires gutting a factory instrument cluster, which allows the holley dash to be inset back from the vertical edge of the dashboard, giving it an angled appearance, almost like the OEM instrument cluster. Decided on my way back from Indiana to call in an order to LMC for one of their repop instrument cluster bezels and have the wife pick it up on her way home from work.

I personally know the engineer who worked to reproduce this bezel, during my time at LMC. He worked for years with the tool and die manufacturer to reproduce a 1:1 copy of the oem 88-90 and 91-94 instrument bezel. So it should fit very well.
