That was certainly a short love affair….

I only bought this ‘95 a few months ago. It hadn’t run in a dozen years but I nursed it back to life and figured it would be my daily driver for a very long time.

A buddy of mine has asked me to sell it to him and two days ago he finally hit a number that I just couldn’t pass up.

So I drove down to the local dealership and bought myself a new ‘23. I’ll be hauling the ‘95 about two hours away to my friend’s place early tomorrow morning.

I did just the opposite couple years ago.
Yeah… I’ve been all over the board. I’ve had over 80 vehicles in my day. I’ve only bought maybe five of those brand new. This is my first new truck in ten years and as recently as a week ago I was telling everyone that my ‘95 Sierra was going to be my long-term daily. Then my pants started on fire and I was exposed as the liar that I truly am. I’m HOPING that I’m done buying/selling cars for a while and can just settle into this new truck. Time will tell, I guess.

I too have had so many, sometimes I’ll hear one mentioned, and I realize, oh yeah I had one of those. No easy answer, for me I’ve just concluded that with the prices and quality of what you get, it’s just beyond sanity.
An example, something like this dollar for dollar compared to brand new.

Compare that level truck to a brand new one for at least 60k? I would take that all day. I’d think you could knock a few thousand off too.
Edit, quick look and that truck is $70k plus new.
