I always loved the gen 3 mako shark body style. The earlier the better. A friend of mine had a silver 73 350 4 speed car. It had a tan interior and a removable rear glass as well as the removable T Tops. Last year for the chrome bumpers, though only in the back. The front had the plastic nose piece by then. I think 72 had the chrome front bumper. But I digress, he offered to sell it to me at one point in time, but I lacked a garage to keep it at the time, so I declined. Congrats on your new ride. It's really schweet !!

As a few of y'all may already know, I have been looking for a 1978-1982, Corvette. The stars aligned for me today, and I brought this home. It's a 1979, with a ton of performance mods. It was used for autocross, by the previous owner. Lot's, and lots of new parts, including vintage air, cam, heads, long tube headers, Holley sniper EFI, coil over shocks, ECT, ECT, ECT. It is a beast, but does need some things, to make it the daily driver, I am going to use it for.
What, no ashtray?

Just an update. I, or should I say we, are making good progress on the Vette. I had a good friend come over today, and help me with the driver's door handle. We also talked about all the issues I have with everything else. He pointed me in the rite direction. He has a 1980 c3, and has done a complete frame off, ground up restoration on his car. To say that he is an expert, is an understatement by far. So good the have good help. He looked over my car, and said, we have the exact same heads. My wife asked him, did he have any idea, how much HP he thinks his car has. He said, I know what it has, I just had a dyno done. 428 at the tires. So I said that would be around 475 at the crank then, rite. He said IDK, but that sounds about rite. One steep closer to getting my Vette, where I want it to be.

I like the back window on these. Chevy should have gone with that look on the '68 models. Nice car, have fun with it!
And that's exactly why I wanted a 78 to 82 model. The long back window. Of those, the 78 to 79 is really what I wanted the most. Really like the 140 MPH speed-o, and the seat's from 79, up. I do have the OE seat's for the car, but they need to be recovered. The seat's that are in it now, are some kind of IDK Mazda Media seats, that some shop, somewhere, does a redo for corvettes. My car just checked off so many boxes of what I was looking for, that I just had to buy it. I've been driving it everyday so far.
