ive been price comparing VHT paint for my upcoming engine bay project, so far best ive found is to order from autozone.com, in batches of 3, $35 orders qualify for free shipping and $7 off coupon, and $4 rebate(rewards program), which comes out to $9.66 per can after tax, best amazon price after tax was 11.77 a can
I’ve been real with VHT stuff

When you paint, what’s a good sprayer to use? Can you rent them anywhere? Also, do you take every body part off to paint like the cab and everything? Maybe these are stupid questions but I know nothing about this. Oh, and will you get a good factory look just painting in a workshop? I thought you had to have a paint booth. Again, these are probably stupid questions, but I’m willing to admit my lack of knowledge in this area, and I’m ready to learn!

tools and place to do it? you got a yard don't ya lol. All ya need is a compressor and paint gun and they are cheap. I use a $50 devilbiss came from lowes and my front yard, works fine minus nosey neighbor who call in on ya lol. You can buff the imperfections out afterwards.
If I ever get all the bodywork done on my truck, I am considering painting it myself. Since I have no garage, I would have to do it in my driveway ... not during pollen season, though

Glad I looked at this thread. I need to get some surface rust off the roof of my 95 suburban. The whole roof is in need of it.
I've got a roof with surface rust too. Don't know how the paint and some of the primer faded away. I need to deal with it this summer, even if I just prime it.

ANY paint work is 95 percent prep.... 5 percent paint.... Once you think you have it perfect and dead on ready to spray? Go to sleep and come back the next day and do it all OVER again in prep till it is PERFECT flat body work... Do it a FEW times before color coat !!!!!
