Segment swap. I forgot to mention to go ahead and copy over the speedometer calibration too since 4x4 low changes how that works.

You want to move over the Transmission, Transmission Diagnostic and Speedometer Calibration.

Once you go through the swap, re open the tune and look at your Gear/Tire Wizard under the EDIT tab up top. Adjust the Gear Ratio and Tire Diameter to match your Tahoe. Leave the options checked for Speedometer Rescale and Shift Point Adjustment.

figured it out and i’m just dumb. i copied all over the gear ratios and whatnot just by inputting it in with the keyboard and thought that was that. your video just explained that maybe i shouldn’t touch a computer. copied it all over via the segment swapper and will test drive and let you know what pops up if anything. so far this been the only issue after i hit you guys with the first part of this post. hop i didn’t screw my trans lmao just had it rebuilt with upgraded clutch packs and new pump and planetary s and corvette servo

Piggy backing on this thread I recently did a 411 swap on my 98 k1500, all went well, the only thing I've noticed is that my speedo is off by about 5 to 10 mph, I have used the tire wizard and input the info it needs but still off, wondering if my vss output or speedo settings have to be changed in order for it to work properly? Any input would be appreciated.

I think I've read some things about not using the wizard? If I remember right, the advice was to just take the number that is in there and do the calculation to adjust that number by the correction needed to read right. Its a simple correction factor. Just take a steady state speed reading on the speedometer and a recorded GPS speed from your phone. Then do some math with (Speedo MPH/GPS MPH)* Current vss rev/mile = new vss rev/mile

I appreciate the input, so basically continue to increase or decrease the rev/Mile until am pretty close the GPS speed?

you should only have to adjust it once if you do the math on how far out it is.

If you are going 60mph(per the GPS measurement) and the speedo reads 50mph, then your vss rev/mile is 17% too high. If the current rev/mile is 19000, then you would do (50/60)*19000=15,833.33

If the number gets further off when you do this(I THINK i've got this right, but maybe not) then just swap the speedo/gps numbers in the equation.

So take your actual mph and divide it by what your speedo reads, then multiply by your current rev/mile and that should give you your new rev/mile? And when inputting the new rev/mile is it for vss pulses or do you input it in gear ratio and tire size?

Opposite. Speedo divided by actual then multiply by the current vss.

Its my understanding that the gear ratio and tire size thing doesn't really do anything. Just modify the vss pulses per mile.

That sounds about right, I appreciate your input and will update with results. Thanks again
