Yes, definitely inventory all the bags that have hardware in them, most of mine had tears in them and I had to find some loose pieces in the box. My belltech boxes also arrived in similar condition, delivered by FedEx. They are the worst.

I have to say, this is almost as much Belltech's fault as FedEx's. I spent a few years shipping aircraft parts, and we made sure the parts were safe. I watched a FedEx driver pickup a 35lb $600,000 box and heave it in the back of her truck, and I wasn't worried. The one time a part I shipped was damaged, the engineer estimated it was dropped from a height of at least 6'.

I'd say a box weighing 35lbs but worth $600K (what in the hell was it?) y'all have a much more vested interest in packing it well, vs. some cast iron stuff and cut/welded steel that sells for $1500. :) But yes, they certainly could pack 'em way better.

Hurry up and get to work! We need pics!
Pics.. but not any real progress! :(

Drop kit unboxed and all parts accounted for with the exception of 4 washers (the stacks of 40 should be 44 according to parts list) - the hardware bag had indeed ripped all the way open and spilled in the flip kit box that had nearly burst open. I don't think they actually escaped, just the parts list got revised.. anyway big freakin' job just to get the table cleared off so I could unpack and sort through everything.

And here's the gotcha moment. Apparently Belltech mispacked the flip kit. The frame notch braces don't match. One is clearly the correct part, and the other looks like it's for a 1500.

I've messaged the seller on Amazon, hoping they'll make it right, quickly. We'll see.

Some progress on the other front though, the new windshield that was leaking at the top and obviously not "stuck" correctly (I could push on it and it would move) was getting annoying so I took it to the glass shop. The place near me that I'd used in the past quoted me starting at $175 just to attempt to re-seal it, and over $200 if they broke the glass and had to replace it, plus they'd need to "work me into their schedule and order the glass" .. yeah no thanks.. drove about 30 mins to a different place and they quoted me $90 to re-seal, or $140 for a new glass in the event it breaks, plus I could wait while they did it.

So yeah, the glass did break, but the reason it was leaking is the previous shop did a crappy install. Fortunately no rust-out in the metal around the windshield. About an hour later they had me good to go.. I've since re-installed the cowl plastic, and pretty sure I fixed the wiper sprayer nozzles by blasting them with compressed air and WD40. They were completely jammed up with crud before.

Oh, and on the way back from the glass shop, first time I've had the truck on the freeway since I drove it home from buying it. On that trip I was afraid to even go 60 as the tires were ancient and cracked. Now I've got my new tires on........!
