Mk4, gen5, and gen6 are the same. The gen7 8.1 swaps two cylinders which I think is the same as the ls engines.
Reading the ad, I think the seller believes the 502 and 8.1l are the same engine. They definitely are not the same thing.
Punching in that stamp on the cam brings it up as an 8.1L cam though, maybe I'll shoot him a message; it's only $100.

I was referring to his comment about a 502 firing order. It sounded like he thought it was different, of course, it's just a guess on what he was thinking.

Do you plan on getting an 8.1L? If not, why spend $100 on a cam that you can't readily use? Unless you plan on converting the firing order... I assume that could be done in the programming of the 0411 PCM.

I am eyeing an 8.1L in the junkyard; unrelated to a swap in this truck unless the stars align. But I was only curious if I could've swapped this cam into my truck as is.

The firing order is different, so the crank is wrong as so will be dizzy firing order AND your ECU will probably HATE you as the firing order is entered in it and it knows what it's looking for.

I wouldn't try it.

Went to the salvage yard with a friend to get a door for his K5 Blazer, he rallied the glass out of it and the door itself has some whiskey dents, so he figured it's better to buy a whole door for $65 instead of paying for new glass. Figured since it's been a hot minute since I've taken any "good" pictures of my truck that the rows of cars stacked like cordwood made a good enough backdrop.

Also perused and found a 2000 Chevy 2500 non-HD...with steering knuckles still on the truck. I'll be going back next weekend, it's a 2WD so it's got the dumb hard plastic covers over the center where the CV axle goes through on the 4x4 units, but they're in good shape so I don't think it'll be too hard to get them. I was also hoping to grab the factory blocks out back but no luck

More junkyard goodies, scored a set of diamond plate bed caps. Scuffed them and shot some bedliner on them today, going to try and get the mounted up tomorrow.
