Okay guys, I have a question.....
94 k1500 5.7 TBI nv4500
I ordered a cam and lifters kit and the timing set they sent me is a cloyes 3023 double chain and gears.....
I have single chain on my stock engine....
The issue I have is that the existing crank gear has a "shoulder" that extends proud of the face of the gear and that rides against the block bore.....
The double chain gear has a chamfer to the inside of the shaft opening.....
Summit shows that it is fitment for a 94 L code engine.....
Everything I have done so far refers to a K Vin when looking up parts.....I know this is an L05, is that what that is referencing? Somewhere else I looked showed that this part was not compatible for my your model truck.....

And can I use this gear? It looks to me as if it will rub against the block itself instead of the crank bore if I put it on.... or is the one that was on here wrong?
Anybody experience this?
Any advice is, as always, appreciated.... gears and crank snout attached

I ran the 3023X timing set on my TBI block with a flat tappet cam with no issues. If you have the same set, pay attention to what timing you set your cam to.

So you're saying that inside chamfer won't rub against the block? That's my only concern...... and mine is the single keyway (if that's what you were referring to by pay attention)
