I finally installed the QA1 sway bar that was part of the IFS kit. It improved the handling a lot. Feels like it wanders less and the bump steer is about 90% gone. So, I decided it was time to get it on the interstate and see if I can hang with traffic.

Up to about 70 it drives great. It's still an old truck, but it does what you want. Over 70 some shaking starts. I tried powering through it to see if it would go away, but I chickened out at 80. It seems worse in 5th than in 4th. The whole truck seems to really smooth out when you have traction and acceleration. Maybe it's the pinion angle.

70 feels plenty fast for now though.

If I might criticize. You don’t post enough pictures. (Lol)

I usually do, but I left my phone in the house. I'll take one the next time I have it off the ground, which probably won't be a very long wait.

Pretty simple install, bolt it on, mark and drill 4 holes and you're pretty much done.

One of the things 30 minutes on the intestate showed me was that it's too frickin' loud. My ears were ringing when I got home. So instead of dumping out directly under the passenger seat, I lengthened the exhaust run and kicked it out with a 45 degree piece on the end. I even took the time to weld on a hanger, solid mounted to the frame of course. It won't be bangin' into anything, that's for sure.

It looks "retro" and "era appropriate" ...but if you don't like it, I'm sure there's other mirrors that would work.
I found out, on my '53 GMC, that the later square body "streamlined" mirrors fit the top of door curve/contour like they were made for it. They look good on the truck, the glass is readily available, and they come in painted and stainless steel versions.
You already have several GM parts on this truck....
