from San Diego to Kerrville Texas and back. Towed a 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera in my enclosed aluminum trailer. Total weight was about 4600lbs. We drank a lot of fuel but never missed a beat over the 3200 mile round trip journey

Full truck and trailer, to Austin yesterday in Rawhide. He hauled it quite well, just thirsty (almost 3/4 tank of gas, but we did drive some between fill up and leaving on the trip. We were probably hauling close to rated weight, but we could run pretty consistently 55-60 even in the hills(nothing really high) while the engine was turning 1900-2000 RPM.
Eventually I'll put a shell on it, so I don't have that air resistance as it comes over the cab and catches the trailer. Then I'll be able to put a load back there and not worry about rain....
Had a little rain on the way up, but we got in the venue and unloaded and got back to the motel before the storms started. It rained really hard for 2 or 3 hours here last night; Houston got that this morning.

Had to rely on the trailer brakes on this one.
Taking the Suburban down to my buddy's place for a front suspension/steering/brakes rebuild. ... AFTER the Burb's only working brake caliper went metal to metal (also during a 300 mile Miata tow job).
Had to tow the Jeep, so I'd have a ride home. Could have towed a 2k lb Miata down, but I needed to get the trailer back home. Lol.

Attached pics of what the 1 working caliper/rotor looked like. Got my money's worth out of that one.

Just got home, took our time and stayed on the back roads, and stopped a few times to get out and walk around. Truck did well for the load it was hauling, but it sits higher than the Burb, so I really need a 4" drop ball mount. The 2" isn't low enough... We got better mileage this leg of the trip, only used half a tank. Going slower and not using the AC (we had a cold front come through Saturday night and it was in the 50s today!) probably helped too; also we went back on the southern route from Austin to Houston which is on flatter ground once you get to I-10 which is halfway.
