I finally found me another GMT400!

A friend of mine had this 4X4 Sport grill and bumper off of a wrecked truck at his shop. I decided to try it on see if I like it. I know they never made an extended cab Sport truck, let alone a 3/4 ton one, but I do kinda like the look.
I’ll decide if I like I’m going to keep it, but since my grill has the infamous peeling chrome and my chrome bumper is tweaked, I’m going to run it for now while I work on other things.

I have new parking light lenses on the way. That will clean up the ugly yellowed ones!

I'm normally not a fan black bumpers and grills but it looks sharp on your truck.

They look good on white or red trucks.....

Get you some gloss black vinyl and wrap just the lower rockers to carry the look on out back perhaps?

I agree with this. There was guy here in town that had a white 4X4 Sport and another that had a white 350 SS. I always liked the look of those trucks. The only thing I didn’t care so much for was the big decals on the 4X4 Sport and I prefer body colored fender flares.
I have toyed around with the idea of going with white painted bumpers with trim like the 350/454 SS trucks also. I have a nice front and rear painted bumper, so I could go either way.

Maybe kind of a mixture of the two trucks below.

I just wasn’t feeling the black rally wheels, so I found a set of the black standard center caps and painted the Rally wheels back agent silver. I was going for the standard rally look on the early trucks, just beefier and stockier.

I’m very happy with the results!

I was doing some buffing on the paint and snapped a few shots of it with the repainted wheels. The black bumper and grill is growing on me, but I’m still think I’d like if better with a chrome bumper and grill.
