I just noticed on Amazon that they have the Mercury Marine Vortec caps and rotors under the Quicksilver label. My Delphi cap and rotor did not last long, these are pricey but perhaps last longer?

Link or part number?

I've always used AC Delco on my truck, and have had no problems. I would assume production would have been by Delphi, but given Delphi has changed so much over the years that may not mean much now.

In my experience Quicksilver is exactly the same as Mercury, just with more generic packaging to sell at places like Walmart .

HOLY CRAP, That's like Bosch/Volvo pricing! (Guess who's not running a Genuine Bosch cap on his Volvo)

I didn't find the rotor,, but about $90 for the cap!!!

You may be onto something though, Mercury and Quicksilver are both owned by Brunswick Corporation.

I just got the same brand cap, rotor, and plug wire kit for my TBI 7.4, then someone mentioned they tried them and it didn't last long, even took out their ignition module when it failed. Could be coincidence, or... ugh

I bought 'em because the cap has the brass terminals, and all the parts including wires are supposedly made in USA.

Yup I have the cap on both trucks, and I got the cap & rotor kit for Rawhide. The Burb has a Blue Streak rotor, that looks pretty similar to the UMP one. I've been pleased with the improvement in performance and smoother idle with these parts.
