I ran a new power source to the egr pin on the new pcm.
Per the drawings above, you didn't need to run a new power source. If you have a 96-97, then you would need to remove the wire going into Pin E and run it to C2 Pin 7. If you have a 98-later, than its a direct pin swap at the ECU.

I did some more testing and found something out. If I use a stock 2002 express 5.7 bin file the truck does not have the p0405 cel. This would tell me that the tune is the problem not the wiring. I cant just use the Express bin file due to it not being for a 4x4. Does anyone have a bin file that would work?

You are correct. I found that out today when I was rechecking the wiring.

I did not realize that when I mentioned it earlier and it is why I included both diagrams. I swapped my 97 van and helped with my buddies 97 1500, both of which had to be added. The only one that new I have 0411 swapped was my 99 Tahoe. I pulled the few wires out of the stock PCM connectors I needed for the fuse box and body side and removed the whole 350 harness. I used the 8.1 harness.

Since we have a new 96 up Vortec subsection, I thought I would make a new post.

The 12200411 PCM can be installed into the 96 to 2000 GMT400 trucks simply by repining the PCM connector terminals. The wiring is slightly different between the 96, 97, and 98 to 2000 trucks. The 0411 PCM has a much faster processor than the Black Box PCM and has dual timing tables. There is also more support from the tuning software companies for the 0411. EFILive and HPTuners both offer "Custom Operating Systems" for the 0411 to support boost and or nitrous. The swap can be completed in about 2 1/2 hrs and is fairly easy to do. If anyone is interested in the swap just PM me your e-mail address and I will send you a copy. I will not post the files to the web.
