Are the front backing plates anywhere available?

Where can I order those?

A friend of mine will be in the states (Denver Colorado) soon and he could bring them to Germany.

But he won't go to a scrap yard and pull them out of a truck.

Are there places where I can order scrapparts and get it shipped to Denver?

Thanks!

You're talking about the dust shields on the inside of the rotor, between hub and steering knuckle?

You must be registered for see images attach

Amazon says these Dorman knockoffs "fit" a '97 K2500. They probably won't fit a 1500, though.

I didn't see an option for dust shields that fit a 1500. Maybe I didn't look hard enough.

The ones for the K1500s w/ ABS are available used on eBay from time to time. I recently bought a pair, there. Whomever is posting that listing, they seem to have a pair for sale pretty consistently. See below.

Different plates are used on the earlier, non-ABS K1500s, I see someone claims to have them "new". See below.

I can't tell you if the "C" trucks use the same or different, I've never checked.

I have these part numbers at hand, you might look for each of them and see what miight fit.

15998039, 15959655; 15998039, 15649981

See here; these DO fit the ABS K1500s, I can attest:

And see here; exactly what these fit I can't say for certain:

Do NOT trust what the listing says regarding fitment; do your research to make sure the part being sold is actually what's needed / what fits!

The original front brake dust shieds rotted off my truck. It's my understanding that they're next to impossible to find on the earlier trucks (1988-94). No aftermarket options. I recently redid my front suspension and brakes, and would have liked to had new shields.

Do you have enough of the original to make a pattern? I had one that I made a pattern from and cut new ones out of 16 gauge steel (old street sign). Cuts easy with a jig saw with metal cutting blade. Cleaned up and painted black - function as they should.

That's a good idea! Unfortunately, I don't have the rotted ones that fell off, and scraped against the inside of the wheel (the squealing noise was how I knew they rotted off - happened within a few weeks of each other!). Even if I had saved them, they were not complete or near-complete enough to make a good template. If anyone has a template they'd like to pass on, I'd be interested.

I'll dig around and see if I can find the one that I made the template from and trace you a template if you like. Both sides are identical in shape and bolt spacing. Let me know and I can mail it to you.

You might try LKQ, they're a nationwide salvage chain with a location in Denver. I can't say if they'd sell just the shields, but they do hold up pretty well out this way.
