Man I miss duallyscene. Like many smaller forums though they just don't stick around forever. :(

With that out of the way, making plans for the drop kit order for my '93 C3500 regular cab dually. Plans are to run the factory 16" wheels. Pretty sure it came with the smaller 225/75/16's factory (tire sticker on door is missing) but it's got 235/85/16's now. They're completely shot so I need new tires anyway.

With a 5/8 static drop on original wheels, I'm thinking the 225/75/16's are the way to go, but no idea if they'll work. I've never owned a dropped dually. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Richard

I miss duallyscene too.
Unfortunately I don't remember what size tires I had on my old dually, but going by what I've seen on here, stock size works.

My old one...

I liked those wheels too, but haven't see another set since. Weld racing, but don't remember the model.

I'll third the missing duallyscene...
I've always ran 225/75/16's on static duallys, may need to roll the front lips a bit.
Yeah it seems like the natural choice as going any smaller likely puts you into P-series tires and there's no way I'm doing that. Fender lip rolling is a given. Thanks!

On tirerack.com you can find specs that include width and overall height if it would help to decide.
For Example:

I bought mine with 245/75/16 already installed on front and the rear outers. I need to replace the mismatched rear inners and have been kicking around finding something a bit narrower for the front because they will rub when turning into certain drives-mostly passenger side, and the fender lips have been cut.

If the door tag is missing, if you still have your RPO tag on glove box the original install option tire size is listed. It would be part of build plan, what type to install on assembly line.
Good luck.

I have the 225/75/16 on mine in preparation for the drop. Hoping it winds up about a 5/7.

This truck here has the 225/75 on the rear but it had car tires on the front. It's like a 6/8 if not more though. I don't want to be that low static so i figured I'd be good with the same size all around.
