Just looking for thoughts on battery disconnects. Battery is a side post, so not looking for any “why not go top post” solutions. Seems generally to be 2 different types. The spin out knob and knife switch.

one of my Tahoe's POs put the knife switch disconnect on it, I haven't had any issues there so far. I think the knife switch would be easier to check if you remembered to connect/disconnect it than the knob type.

My uncle had a knife switch go bad, but I think it took quite awhile. Do they go on the ground or positive side? I'd be a little leery of having a large exposed thing connected to the positive side that could possibly catch something. When I've disconnected a battery, it's been on a vehicle with top post marine connectors, so I just undo the wingnut and remove a cable. I'm not sure if something exists for sideposts, like that.
