The bags of gas in the trunk reminds me of my adventures in South America. When our church mission team was in Colombia, we had to hire some local kids to drive us to a site on motorcycles. It was only a five-mile ride, but halfway there they all stopped at a house and the lady inside brought out gas in mason jars to fill their tanks. In Honduras, if you wanted a soda, the bodegas only served Pepsi in baggies. We're so spoiled.

You left out, a pile of scrap aluminum in the same gauge that you can practice on so you don't wreck that nice truck box while learning. :)

DO IT

There is a cheap truck box here that I'm fairly certain that I can talk the owner out of that is thinner gauge. I was thinking that I could use that to practice with and possibly the baffling.

If I hadn't mentioned it before, I sold the 454, 4L80E and transfer case from the stripper flatbed. I now have the chassis up for sale. I got the flatbed off and I have to say that it was the most sketchy lifting that I've done with the gantry crane. Multiple ratchet straps to somewhat level it. Afterwards there wasn't enough room on the gantry rails so I used two ratchet straps to pull the chassis back about two feet so I could set the flatbed down because I had to get ready for work.

It's surprising how versatile a good collection of ratchet straps are.
