I'm gonna say wheel stud replacement might be in order, too. Give 'em a really close look when it's time to swap the wheels out.

Be sure to check car-part dot com for yards near you that might have the wheels you need. Most yards are on the "hotline" so if they don't have them they'll usually rapid-fire another number for you to call, so be ready with pen and pad.

Judging by the amount of rust on your hub and wheel studs, I wouldn’t be surprised if corrosion is holding those wheels together and to the drum. Happens all the time on semi trucks and trailers when the wheels have been together for a long time. If you’ve got a tire hammer (probably not), hit the sidewall of the tire with that, or you can try stomping on the bottom of the wheel itself to get it to break loose. Spray some pb plaster or equivalent around that stuff too

Good suggestion on the PB Blaster, I just hit both rear wheels. I also took a closer look at the other side. I saw the Accuride mark and assumed I had two incorrect wheels, a closer look tells me the second one is actually GM. There is a visible difference in center bore too. It looks like the inner behind the Ford rim has the correct center bore too.

I think I’m going to take a different approach and rather than buy wheels first-take everything apart to determine what all is going on. May only need to replace one wheel (and studs, good recommendation there too).

Pictures comparing center bore and the part number for the pass side wheel 28623=GM 8x165 where 29223=Ford with 8x170 pattern.

Also thanks for the reminder of car parts .com I had forgotten about that site and they show a few places with wheels in stock, will start making calls once I know how many I need.

Now that’s interesting because f o r d uses that plate on some of their trucks but I didn’t really pay that close attention to it and never looked that close to my dually. Huh . Never to old to learn something new

Well the fun continues. Pulled out the big guns to pull the wheel. Looks like the bolt pattern was drilled to make it fit.

With both wheels off, I discovered that I’m running 2 different size tires. 245/75/16 on both fronts and rear outers. Rear inner on driver side is 235/85/16. Looks like inner on pass side will also be 235/85/16.

Anyway, driver side bag is replaced and getting a second wind to tackle the passenger side.

Well, ran out of time last weekend but finally got the other helper bag, air lines and fittings all replaced today.

So far the GM rims I’ve messed with on my C3500 are stamped Accuride 28623 which I’ve found listed as being for 76-99 depending on application.

Today I picked up a wheel from a seller on Craigslist and he said it was from an 88. It is stamped Accuride 28374 which I see listed as 88-90 only. I don’t see anything materially different about this rim except it doesn’t have the small extra hole in the bolt circle. Hoping I’m not wrong and can get the two odd sized tires replaced next week.
