well i thought this would be an easier swap since at the parts store it is listed as an option for my truck, however it appears i need to change to the rectangle plug, and find a bracket if i want to use it properly (or it wont have a rear mount, just the front 2) maybe is should return it and get an ad244 since it seems to be direct minus the belt? what would i tell the parts guy i needed so i get an ad244? id assume belt to match the alt?

I'd swap it for the AD244 to get the better engineered alternator, slightly more current and not have to change connector. You're still not going to have the bracket, but it seems like it's not a problem.

I looked it up using an 05 yukon xl, 04 yukon xl and a 03 yukon at NAPA and came up with part number 2134826. And I plugged that number in to their search and it came up with the part, so you should be able to give that number to the parts guy.

Not sure where anyone came up with the belt other than they used the belt specified for the larger alternator option(wouldn't that be the cs144? Must be about the same as the ad244?), but Goodyear Gatorback 4060967 is what I've got written down.

I'd take your alternator and belt with you just to be able to compare.
