Some DA ran into the back of me at a stop sign last week. Small dent in the bumper and cut the plastic but no biggie. They hop out of their car and I’m looking at my bumper they yell from beside their car “you got any damage?” I was like my bumper has dent and they just hopped back in the car and drove off. Caught me a little off guard haha

I was traveling for work so I didn’t bother messing with the police over such a small dent. (One on the body was there when I bought the truck) other car had a smashed up headlight and bumper so figured they got enough problems to worry about but driving off is a jackwagon move.

Yup that's one reason I called the PoPo when we were in our wreck last August. That wasn't the best part of Houston, even in mid afternoon, and I wanted to be sure I wasn't walking up to a car where I might be getting shot at. We have permitless carry in Texas now, and some people pack anyway, permits or otherwise. I had gotten a few pictures of the other car, including one with the plate, so if she had left before the cop got there, I would have shown him that.
Back in the 90s when Mom and I had our Dodge Intrepid and drove a lot for work, we had a kid in Sugar Land (wealthy suburb of Houston) that ran into our left rear quarter panel and door, coming under the freeway from the opposite side we were on. He was busy thinking about his 18th birthday party the next day, not his driving! Little fkr tried to leave the scene as I was walking up to his vehicle (Suzuki Samurai). I told him not to leave, police were on the way, and I had his plate number. Then the MC cop shows up and gave Mom a ticket! We didn't live in Sugar Land and the kid did. She had that happen another time, where she got a bogus ticket, because of residency not in Sugar Land, with that car....right after we'd gotten it back from the Mopar body shop after not having it for two months (because of another duma$$ causing a wreck!). That car was in four or five wrecks while we had it, none were our fault.

Rocky Mountain high...
So I caught this one this morning. I have seen it a couple times charging up in the area, but never caught the driver to ask about it. Michigan plates (and it's never been washed) is a tell-tale sign that this one is a test mule, and the driver is not the owner. Sure enough, talked to the driver today.

Brand new Hummer SUV, all-electric. This thing is a beast.

The guy told me his job is to drive it around all day, and charge it up multiple times, to test the truck's reaction to repeated charging and "topping off". He said the thing weighs 9400 lbs :( but is rated at 1000 HP and is FAST. He has had it from the manufacturer for a couple months. He said the manufacturers like to test in the Rockies, with altitude and mountain terrain / heavy grades. Apparently he is a contractor that drives test mules for a living (how cool is that). Retired guy, looks like a truck driver.

By the way, that old-school GMT400 in the background is my red 2-door. He offered a straight-up trade, but I said no...;)
