I finally wired my AEM Wideband into my HP Tuners MPVI Pro unit for the first time ever. Now open loop tuning my VE and MAF tables. Not sure why I did not do this sooner. Well worth the time it took to add two wires and buying $10 worth of connectors on Amazon. I have it all setup in Lambda and my Histogram tables for Lambda Error.

I got a kick out of this. I topped this off this evening before I left on a short ~100 trip. I am running open loop and speed density, richer than my air/fuel targets. Pushing it along at 75-80 mph and at times even 90 mph. Gas needle just dropped off full. Unlike my 99 Tahoe the vans fuel gauge is fairly accurate as the fuel level drops save for still having nearly 8 gallons on E. The needle sits about two clicks over F when it is full. I have topped it back off on this trip with the needle in the same spot and it is never more than 5-6 gallons.

As I said before, should have done this a long time ago. It is nice to be able to tune the VE tables in open loop. I even left highway lean cruise enabled while tuning the VE tables.

I ran the wires up behind the dash from the wideband. I will throw up the Amazon link for that connector. HP Tuners acts like it is gold as far as price goes. Now I have 5 of them. Will be adding one to the Tahoe and the 87 van as well.

HP Tuners MPVI Pro External Input connector equivalent. Pack of 5 for $11 vs the highway robbery HP Tuners wants for one. I will be installin one in every vehicle I have a wideband in for cheap.

Well since the site will not allow me to link the product. Simply Google.

I use serial output for wideband to work with a standard interface. Have one permanently wired in the burban. Used evap pressure pin on ecu for a while but switched as can calibrate easier. Arduino board takes analog signal in, and outputs serial data

That’s awesome, I literally just got my AEM hooked into hptuners this weekend as well, and I’m running the same OG MPVI pro you are!

It is well worth it! Spend some time on both the VE and MAF tables independently. I recorded 250 miles worth of datalogs this weekend as well as a few morning cold start, idle warmups. Mine is not perfect yet but it is alot closer than it was. The startup is cleaner and smoother and the the low-mid throttle is a lot more responsive. I am using Paste Special Half on the MAF/VE error tables I created to multiply the error by half to prevent overshooting. It is working nicely. My VE table was a bit lean. My MAF table a bit rich. They are now much closer. Make sure closed loop is fully disabled, that the EVAP is turned off and that you reset the LTFTs prior to data logging. Next weekend I am making the same trip and it will be with pump E85 in the tank.

Have yall tested Analog vs Serial for differences?
I found serial to be more accurate but im using a RJ11 connector from a LC2 into a EFI Live V2.
Used a NTK sensor with a Ballenger Motorsports AFR500 to do "calibration" test on the dyno with Analog and Serial inputs and Analog had quite a difference.

I have noticed the analog output readings I’m getting are slightly off from the gauge, not sure if that’s some kind of latency or related to what you are talking to.

I might go rummage through the old IT boneyard pile here at work, we used to use serial stuff so there might be some db9 connectors and maybe even a usb to serial adapter in an box collecting dust… if I can find that I’ll give it a go.
