Good morning. I am putting new exhaust manifolds on my 1988 3500witha 454.I have searched and can’t find a replacement dipstick tube and heat shields that protect the plug wires. Also does anyone know of a bolt kit for the manifolds. The ones that bolt them to the heads?

My truck used the heat shields that look like Shrek ears, and bolted onto the manifolds. Several of them rusted off. When I did wires last I used the LS style shields. I bought them through Rockauto.

Heat shields? Maybe Stealership, more-likely Treasure Yard.

Dipstick tube should be available in the aftermarket...or from the same Treasure Yard that you get the heat shields from. Perhaps Stealership.

Rockauto has the heat shields. For the dipstick tube, the Mark IV actually uses a 2 piece dipstick tube while the gen 5 uses a 1 piece but they seem to be interchangeable, a salvage yard seems like the only option for that unless you find an aftermarket one somewhere.

Other than the stud that helps hold the dipstick tube on, the bolts aren’t that special so you could just get grade 8 hardened bolts with a short shank for the manifolds.

Check out the ACCEL 9000 series ceramic boot spark plug wires. I quit using heat shields on my LT1 car with these, the boots are solid and feel like porcelain and rated for some ridiculous amount of heat. It also gives you a solid pull to remove the boots and don't have to worry about them ripping off. I really like those before I coil packed the car.
