If you don’t have a good complete one, or it has a junky open element filter, might consider the reproduction Cadillac batwing cleaner. it’s not cold air induction, but it’s good looking and no clearance issues with an enclosed 4” filter.

I live in the desert SW so dust is an issue, especially with open filters. I mean park it for 3 days and the filters are literally covered in dust. so I did the caddy, and it’s worked for me.

I can confirm no issues in sub freezing weather, I just spent all winter with it Amd it was in the 20-30s until the last week of February.

Hard to take them seriously when they
A. Don't know what the actual ignition timing is*, 'cause they're too lazy to find TDC of #1, and compare it to the damper mark;
B. Can't bother to tell people that 2-barrel carbs are not rated for CFM the same as 4-barrel carbs. 2-barrel carbs are rated for CFM at 3 inches of mercury vacuum level, while 4-barrel carbs are rated at 1.5 inches of mercury vacuum. Higher vacuum draws more airflow. No kidding the 2-barrel carb made the least power. It's about the equivalent of a 350 cfm 4-barrel carb.

(Best I can tell, the 2-barrel TBI units are rated like a 4-barrel carb.)
and
C. Never once mention that the carb spacer under the carb can make a considerable difference.

What they did show pretty nicely is that air filter size makes very little difference as long as the filter elements aren't dirty. Bigger elements don't really make more power, but they can go longer time/miles before they degrade performance.

*Wild guess with no evidence: They used a pickup-truck front cover that needs the timing light shining "straight down" to view the timing pointer, but used a damper that has the timing mark set up for the timing pointer that's viewed at an angle from the left side of the engine. I'm thinking they're 13 degrees different, and that mis-matched combination would "indicate" 13 degrees additional advance compared to "reality". 51 - 13 = 38. 36--38 degrees total advance is fairly reasonable for a slow-burning combustion chamber like an old-turd 305. However, it could be that the inertia ring has slipped on the hub just like they said.

The "baffle and silencer" on the 350s was mildly restrictive
these are bad bad because they have the silencer baffles
I cut my baffle out by sliding my hand inside with a hacksaw blade. The factory baffle was maybe 3" in diameter and definitely needed to go.

Says video unavailable, for me.

I wouldn't use it unless I was replacing an air cleaner that pulled from the engine compartment any ways, even if it does look pretty cool. It would be fine for my 60 Buick, for instance. On a newer TBI engine, I'd keep the stock air cleaner, and maybe swap in an air tube without the chambers (or restrictions if there was one). The chambers aren't all bad, Though. I've read they don't reduce power, and can actually increase it. The thing is, the flow is not perfectly linear/continuous. It's pulses, so comparing flow capicty between a stright pipe and one with chambers isn't directly relavent if you're testing with continuous flow, since that's not what an engine does.

some of these trucks as seen in post #14 had straight ducking would like to find one for sale also this is what the video is about
You must be registered for see images attach
the person say the 2 inlets got very dirty and the rest of the filter was clean and looked new after a year and it was making his truck bog down and then he showed an open element filter that was evenly dirty after a year and said the open element was better I was asking if the batwing would have the same problem or not

it seems that the tall lid for the old air cleaners fits good on the tbi base the filter slides around though since there is nothing to hold still like on the old one that an inner filter that dose not come out
