Np241c transfer case

I want to convert my truck to manual shift. Will any transfer case from a chevy truck work? Does the transfer case need to be specific to the axle gear ratios?

You're in luck. That is if you get one from a GM truck, you can retain to OE t-case. The 4500 was available in Dodge trucks, so choose carefully.

I did that very thing, in reverse, to my 1500. The t-case will bolt to the tranny and operate due to both manual trans, and 400, having 31 spline shafts. And if you get an 88-98 vintage truck, you'll have a donor for the brake pedal, clutch pedal, and bracket, brake master cyl, and wiring harness. (Unless you don't like reverse lights to come on when youre in reverse)

As long as it’s 32 spline and has the same bolt pattern it will work. Beware that 1/2 ton trucks with automatics have a 27 spline tcase but the one from the ad looks like it will work

When you say 32 spline what do you mean? The output shaft for the driveshaft yoke?

The transmission output shaft/tcase input shaft spline count. I think driveshaft yoke is also 32 spline. For instance, if you get an NP241 that was originally mated to a 4l60e, the number of splines in the input shaft is not the same as case that was hooked up to a TH400, 4l80e, or manual trans. Even though everything else on the transfer case looks identical, it wouldn’t go together

So the 241C from my 95k1500 with a NV3500 wouldnt go on my 96k1500 with a 4l60? If both cases are 241c i can use two to make one tho right?

Correct. The manual tranny, the 400, and the 4L80 are 32 spline output.
The 700r4 and the 4L60 are 27 spline.
