I used the M295 on several builds and they usually had lower oil pressure than id like to see so i started using the M10295 and no issues since. They all have minimum 40psi oil pressure at hot idle with 5w30.
DONT FORGET THE OIL BARBELL at the rear Driver side of engine. Melling MOGP-100 is the Part number for it.

What oil pan are you using?

This is what came with the engine and just so happened to be the right one for an obs

Ive never seen one fail. But it has been left out on a rebuild and causes oil pressure issues.. as in zero oil pressure haha..
But It is a oil diverter. Oil supply from pump to filter hits the front of it and diverts the oil flow to the filter.
The O ring on it goes towards the outside of the block sealing the oil inside. The rear cover helps keep it in place.
Ive put in hundreds of them and never tore a o ring but i lube them up with Lucas oil stabilizer or assembly lube.
I was planning on using one of the aftermarket aluminum barbells

I need to lookup my receipts, but we did one of the fancy Mellings and it had 60+ psi at idle hot. I made the call to switch to 5W-20 and it's now 40 at idle hot.
Had to be the 10296. Ive done some them before and if the bearings are tight its pretty high.
Putting the COPO camaro spring in the 10296 with mains at .0035 and Rods at .0025 it will still have 40psi at hot idle with 20w50.
The 10355 works good with the alum blocks with bearings in the medium range. But the 10355 in a iron block and it will be bypassing most of the oil in the pressure regulator.

Its not needed unless it makes you feel better. I use the Melling one even in the race motors running 120psi oil pressure at 8800Rpms.

How do you get an ls to run 8800 rpm lol
Money :)
Dart LS Next Block
427ci 4.125" Bore x 4" Stroke
274/280 .712"/.698" 114 cam
Johnson solid roller lifters
CID Intake - 123mm Throttle body
113mm Turbo and M1 methanol
It makes about all the power haha

Got a LC9 5.3 in my buddys Foxbody with a 92mm turbo and it spins up to 8800-8900rpms.
It made its best 1/8th mile pass leaving at 6000 rpms on 12psi and ramping the boost to 41psi in 1.5 seconds and shifting just a little under 9000.
it ran a 4.73 or 4.74

Money was assumed hahaha, but just wondered specifics, that’s for the drag strip I assume, I haven’t heard of much for like road race application higher than 8000 ish. Sounds awesome!

Yea 99% stuff I do is for drag racing. Only done a couple turbo LS for autocross style racing.
Just finished a 5.3 .030" over with stock crank, scat rods and dss pistons for a turbo setup in a infiniti g35. It's going to be a fun ride.
Holley dual fuel intake with 16 injectors.
93 in 8 for daily driving and X98 in the other 8 for racing.
