05-06 was a weird transition period and I'm not even sure if they were Geb3/4 or a little of both. I know they were getting their ***** kicked trying to get a muffler that wouldn't sound like ass when in AFM mode like the 07-09, those for sure had LH6 motors. But an LM4 was low come, early heads. Is it 24X? Gen3/4 rods?
24x, GenIV rods and pistons, knock sensors in the valley, no DOD or VVT. 4 bolt DBW throttle body on an old style truck intake that has the newer style TB flange.

Total mish mash, but sounds more like an L33 with flat tops and 799 heads. I'm really not sure which rods those got, but they are an 05-06ism.

I have a 2006 cab and chassis 6.0L that has Gen IV rods and pistons (2 valve reliefs per piston) but still had 317 heads as well.

I’m looking at the Stage 1 SUM-8718 Pro LS Drop-in Truck Swap Cam, Maximum Torque for Towing and Efficiency, 205/217 112+2, .500 /.500 Lift. I know it’s not much of a cam when there are choppier ones for the same price, and not far from a truck Norris cam price wise but again, I am trying to go for a MILD daily, lol I know my weak point will be my transmission too. Some day I might throw some power to this motor but not until I can afford the t56 magnum first haha
That will be a great cam for all around use. I dont care for the cams that only have a noisy idle. I go for practicality.
I put a Cam Motion 206/210 .553/.553 115+5 in a fresh LMG 5.3 for my Wifes tahoe. And it does great. Idles like stock and makes good power.

What are my bearing clearance tolerances for a daily driver? The bearings look fantastic but the guy I bought it from said they should be replaced for a daily because they won’t be tight enough. He was planning on using it as a drag motor so looser fit is what he wanted.
I shoot for .0015" on rods and .002" on mains for 5w30 oil and M10295 oil pump in a Iron Block daily driver.

I noticed the M10295 is a Melling standard volume +10 psi oil pressure, is that something necessary for a mild build? I’ve heard melling oil pump is a must but not the higher psi

I used the M295 on several builds and they usually had lower oil pressure than id like to see so i started using the M10295 and no issues since. They all have minimum 40psi oil pressure at hot idle with 5w30.
DONT FORGET THE OIL BARBELL at the rear Driver side of engine. Melling MOGP-100 is the Part number for it.

What oil pan are you using?

If it does fail, doesn't that just mean non filtered oil sneaks into the engine's supply? Do the upgraded ones tear the o-ring on install?

Ive never seen one fail. But it has been left out on a rebuild and causes oil pressure issues.. as in zero oil pressure haha..
But It is a oil diverter. Oil supply from pump to filter hits the front of it and diverts the oil flow to the filter.
The O ring on it goes towards the outside of the block sealing the oil inside. The rear cover helps keep it in place.
Ive put in hundreds of them and never tore a o ring but i lube them up with Lucas oil stabilizer or assembly lube.

I need to lookup my receipts, but we did one of the fancy Mellings and it had 60+ psi at idle hot. I made the call to switch to 5W-20 and it's now 40 at idle hot.
