New carpet and a thorough cleaning at least....
Yup. That's the plan. New carpet, see if I can source a new dash, new seat covers from The Seat Shop, and gut all of the not factory electronic crap. Oh, and @Cunningham Machine bushings and pins for the doors. Hoping the driver's side hinges can be saved.

So, anyone have any recommendations for how to repower this girl? Not going LS. Either a reman from work, I've found a couple of places that show to still be able to get a GM L31 crate, rebuild a junkyard L31, or maybe rebuild a junkyard motor into a 383? I dunno. I feel like a 350 should probably be sufficient for what she'll be used for.

I think I'd check yards for a decent 350 to run as is.... well probably the long block as is, but redo the intake gaskets, and others, along with cleaning up and painting stuff. I'm not sure how common a runner 350 is anymore. Maybe someone on the forum has an extra? Maybe find a runner parts truck and grab the engine out of that? Being in TX you won't have rust, so maybe the engines go before the rest of the truck in your area.

Failing that, I don't know. I might be tempted to go LS, just to see what the fuss is about and availability.

Just buy a beat to piss Tahoe, Yukon or Burb that runs good and use it for a parts vehicle. You'll thank me later if you do because of all of the small stuff that'll be missing. There is actually a 99 Escalade here for $200 on facefart.

We had a 00 Denali that exact same color around 2010-2012ish. It was a nice vehicle but it can be hard to find a BCM if you start having issues.

Where is the BCM located on these things?
