I’m looking at the Stage 1 SUM-8718 Pro LS Drop-in Truck Swap Cam, Maximum Torque for Towing and Efficiency, 205/217 112+2, .500 /.500 Lift. I know it’s not much of a cam when there are choppier ones for the same price, and not far from a truck Norris cam price wise but again, I am trying to go for a MILD daily, lol I know my weak point will be my transmission too. Some day I might throw some power to this motor but not until I can afford the t56 magnum first haha

You don't really want all that chop nonsense with a daily driven manual. We have an LS6 cam in my son's truck and it's "milder" than yours. Idles great, plenty of vacuum for the brakes, and gets off the line without having to be aggressive on the gas.

I have the summit 8720 in my turbo 5.3 swapped truck in front of a NV3500. I've only driven it once since the install, but I share your anxiety about how long it will live. LOL. I'm using a stock clutch and flywheel from an '01 4.8 truck (I think) which is pretty heavy and helps get it moving.

02-04 Z06 cam is 204/218, .550" lift, and on like a 117-3 or thereabouts. OP spec'd a nice, torquey cam that should peter out a little before yours.

I’ve got buddies that are like “you might as well get the truck Norris cam and just put it around if your worried about the nv3500” but I completely agree with you saying it’s not practical for a daily manual.

My goal is to retain as much fuel efficiency as I can as well as reliability while improving the truck as a whole, so I don’t plan on drag racing anyone or doing any burnouts or anything lol. So I hope that will prevent any issues with the transmission haha. I’m already gaining so much just doing a 5.3 swap close to stock not wanting to take it to the strip or anything lol

If it has flat tops and 799 hears it's an L33. LM4 motors don't have those. Most trailblazers etc. had 6 cylinder engines, aside from the SS (LS2) the LM4 was used in 03 and 04, 05+ have the LH6. The H3 V8 option was an LH8 or LH9 depending on model year, both of which are iron block motors.
Did they put a L33 in a ~2005 or 2006 Saab suv? I understood it was a LM4 but maybe I am wrong. I don't really keep up with all the 5.3L differences. It is definitely a 24x engine, has the older looking truck intake but a larger ~87mm DBW throttle body on it.

The "TrollBlazer" Saab 9-7x was a rebadged TrailBlazer. Wikipedia says the V8 versions came with the either the LH6 or the LS2.

How you drive it is probably the most important thing.

I haven't calculated the mileage in our truck, but it's very good. Yours should be a touch better with the lighter block and trans. I can drive all day and never get over 2000 rpm (4L60e with 3.42 gears and 255/60/17 tires), but if you want to go fast it's more than capable.

I have access to a later (LS2) first gen CTS-V with a rowdy comp cam in it (I can get the specs if you want) and it needs throttle to get moving. I don't mind doing it because it's not a daily, but it can get mildly irritating, (especially if you are in the vicinity of the local constabulary) because it attracts attention.

05-06 was a weird transition period and I'm not even sure if they were Geb3/4 or a little of both. I know they were getting their ***** kicked trying to get a muffler that wouldn't sound like ass when in AFM mode like the 07-09, those for sure had LH6 motors. But an LM4 was low come, early heads. Is it 24X? Gen3/4 rods?
