I get that. I just got my transmission back up in my truck Monday evening. I still have to finish bolting everything up.
My wife is being induced Monday night lol. I may try to do the pan gasket tonight and see if it clears it up. I'm dropping it off Monday before we head to the hospital to have ac system replaced. I was gonna have him do the trans but if it's just the pan gasket that's a 30 to 40 minute job.

most of the SBC leaks are from the china wall on the back of the intake . they leak over EVERYTHING. then from the motion of driving forward it travels BACKWARDS as well.

Alot of the engine oil is from the intake but that was all re-sealed a bit ago.

Since inside the bellhousing is mostly dry I'm gonna do the pan gasket first make sure thats gonna fixe that.

Yeah def shallow. Gonna grab a filter, gasket and oil on the way home. Put the wife and our 2 yo to bed then head to the garage.

Nothing reaally in the way on these trucks no exhaust or nothing look like a pretty simple change.
