My '03 Trailblazer (also 4L60E) did that for years. Freezing, or colder, and no reverse first thing in the morning. Fine once the outside temp warms up (spring, summer, fall) or when the trans temp warms up (a minute or two.)

Flushed the fluid via the cooler tube (took 15 quarts) and replaced the filter. Discovered nothing evil in the pan--in fact it had very little for deposits/debris. Fixed reverse for about a year and a half. Was fine last winter, and the first half of this winter.

But as of a month--six weeks ago, the problem is back.

I guess I'll do another fluid flush and new filter. See what happens. I suggest you do the same.

How many miles on the truck/transmission? And does reverse not engage at all or is there a delay(a few seconds or so) before it moves?

I would start with a fluid and filter change and see if it gets better.

It's amazing what old just worn out fluid can do to a trans. Not always the fix, but certainly worth a try considering the cost of a rebuild.

Unless you've got gears that now identify as neutrals, I don't think a fluid change is gonna fix that.
