Not everyone who lives in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, ECT., Have to leave there house for a hurricane. It all depends on how close you live to the water. We are about 30 miles from the water. I always board up, and ride out the storm. I live far enough from the Gulf, and bay, that flooding isn't the issue. It's downed trees, and downed power lines. Yes, a storm will last for 10, to maybe 20 hours. Yes the winds will be 100 plus MPH of several hours, and there will be a lot of rain. But I have lived here all of my life. I am 63 years old, and have ridden out many hurricanes. Also, where I live, we are about 35 feet above sea level. Not like being on the beach, or bay.
Well.....I was this many years old when I found this stuff out!!! Lol. I actually LOVE wild weather, woman gets pi$$ed when I'm outside watching the "Alberta afternooners" we get here. Tons of lighting and torrential rains.

But without the hurricanes!!! I'll take -40 over fleeing for my life and hoping I have a house to go back too!
Just don’t go outside in the prairies during -40 cause the wind chill makes it more like -70…. Didn’t find it that bad in the bushier areas though when I worked around fox creek/whitecourt

Roscoe dodged a bullet yesterday. A running, driving '99 CCSB 3/4 ton with a 454 popped up nearby for $5700 obo. I got permission from my wife and messaged the guy. By the time he messaged me back, he'd sold it. I wouldn't have hesitated to ditch Roscoe for a crew cab tow pig.

...but I missed it. Back to work.

$5,700 isn’t bad. How did it look? I was shopping for a K2500 last night and found a few decent ones within a reasonable distance. All 350s.

I hear you on 2wd. Both of mine are 2wd and I like it but I’d like to have just one 4wd for the winter months. Roads aren’t always great by me. 2wd for cruising in the warmer months is great.

...and people who tow on the highway. I don't have to drive to work at 0500 in the snow any more. If it's snowy, I'm teleworking. I don't have any pasture, and I don't dig rock crawling. Gas mileage matters and I don't like having to maintain a second diff and CVs if I'm not going to use them. Roscoe's 2wd, and that's how I like it.
