Any 34/78 battery should drop right in. I've got an Odyssey 1000CA/850CCA in my red truck, and two DieHard 900 CA/800CCA batteries in my crew; they fit in the battery trays just fine.
------------
How do you like the Super Starts? I've been having a hell of a time with the DieHards in my 6.5.

The larger battery is normal for my truck. I think the smaller one is listed as an alternate size, when I put my truck into the computer at Walmart. The vans get an even larger battery, but I don't think our battery trays are big enough for it.

I've always ran a 34/78 in every truck; I've never really looked at what the alternate battery options are.
My coworker has a set of big ass marine deep cycles in his GMT800 Suburban, he said he had to flatten out the ends on his battery trays in order to fit them, so I assume with a little bit of effort one could probably mount a set of comically large batteries in our trucks.

I've got a monster battery in the 1500, forget which size. I had to cut the side of the tray and beat it flat for it to fit. You can get a few pieces of paper between it and the overflow nipple on the radiator. I want to say Crown Vic cop cars used it?

Would've been a good time to go top post. Side post have given me trouble on multiple vehicles, and always solved it by making the switch.
I hadn't had any issues with side posts....yet
Does the bigger battery drop right in?
Yes, the specs call for a 78 series battery, the old battery looked like a lawnmower battery in my battery tray lol

Don't really know yet, I'll get back to you on that, this is the first one I've had

In highschool me and a buddy made a huge battery out of a dozer fit in my 81 F150, that thing outlasted the truck

I put Whamalart's cheapest top-post 850 CCA battery in WCJr. It's a 65 series, and I had to flatten the end of the battery tray to fit it. Works like a champ.

I realized I never mentioned that I “upgraded” the radio. I kinda prefer the OEM look, but after trying 3 different junk yard radios that each had different issues, I added this to my Christmas wish list since my wife was out of ideas. It’s a $40 Amazon special, but it works pretty good surprisingly. I just didn’t feel like any OEM radio was truly worth repairing

Went to the junkyard Saturday morning hoping to score some cloth buckets from a Tahoe in the yard. Of course those were already gone. But I did take the front grille. It’s dirty as hell, but it’s a genuine GM grille and in pretty decent shape except for needing the black touched up. I already have new corner lights on the way.

I’ve tried to let it grow on me, but I’ve never cared for the GMC grille. Thanks to the parts dually, this was the last piece I needed for the Chevy conversion.

I realize I’m kinda all over the place this week, that said, I decided to tackle the leaking rear wheel seal that I’ve been avoiding. Got the drum off and I definitely have a leak smh. Gonna match up the wheel seal tomorrow and wind up replacing both of them, and the shoes and wheel cylinders on both sides since I’m already in there.

Oily oily

The seal “looks” good to me honestly, but it had to be leaking for a reason…

Thought the same thing when I did my seals, but like yours, mine was clearly leaking. Taking those big ass drums off and on is no joke either.
