I think I'm going to catalog my lighting stash and sell some of it. I know there are discerning halogen enthusiasts on this forum and perhaps we can help each other. I have mostly Cibie, some Bosch, and Hella...GM fogs and quads too.....oh, and those high end Buick fogs as well

Because my memory is not what it pretended to be...did you ever find a set?

Nope, I didn't. The cheap LED housings are still in the car. No major complaints, although I'm sure a set of the Cibies would be better.

Did you ever take any pictures of the beam spread from the driver's seat?

Nope, I have one of the beams shining on my dad's garage door though. This was low beams only right after install, I've since adjusted them a little better.

I still maintain that you tiptoed into LEDville....Lol

Guilty as charged.

I can tell you this though, dipping a toe into the LED pool has confirmed all the info we've discussed here completely in my mind.

Hell...I was beyond convinced when I did that test deal with those 'things' on my bike...Oh, the horror was indeed the correct response to that shytshow. Mayhaps you remember? And no, I have no clue where that is in this thread, lol.

I was doing some searching and found these. Something I was not aware of. I'll come back here later and make a post to tell a little story, yeah a little one, lol.

Revisiting the past, still enjoying the really nice output of some old school Phillips HIR low beams hacked (just that little tiny cut you make in one of the tabs) into the factory housings of my 2006 Silverado. I bought these bulbs forever ago. Not suggested for low beams in GMT400 housings as there's no "glare cap" in those and the HIR's don't have the black painted tips like a regular 9006 halogen.. but a cateye GMT800 has "glare caps" over the tip of the bulb, so no biggie.

I did attempt to paint some coatings on the tips to no avail. They melted everything off. I really like them in the high beams, and I don't think there is anything better.
