Good to know, thanks! One of these days, I'm climbing up in the bed and checking all the bulbs in this light on my crew cab. One of the brake bulbs is bad, and I'm thinking about changing them all to LED bulbs. Cargo light could definitely be brighter....
If anybody has a better way of getting bulbs out, I’d like to know, cause the only way I’ve found is to break the little bast*rds with a screwdriver and then pull remains out with needle nose pliers. Wear gloves too!

Take a small (2-3") piece of Scotch tape and put one end over the top of the bulb glass, then fold the other end over the bottom of the bulb glass. Press it down to the glass as well as you can with a screwdriver or other pokey proddy instrument, then you should be able to pull the bulb out with the tape loop. Did this successfully a few times on my red truck before I switched to the LED 3rd brake housing.

This is just a question because I don't know. What is different from a RC EC and CC light. I have both a RC and EC and visually they look the same.
If you don't have them off the truck and next to each other it won't be obvious. The extended cab light has a different shape where it fits against the roof. They do not interchange with regular/crew cab.

That is weird that GM would make a distinct light for just the EC. Very inefficient, with no discernible reason or benefit..

No love for the extended cab owners. I pull one off every extended cab truck I find at the yard.

Go to oreillys, in the bulb section you can find a pair of bulb pliers for $9, which is what you pay on Amazon eBay etc for them anyway.
They look rather like scissors but with rubber grips for the bulbs Instead of a set of blades.
was the only way I could get the OEM cargo bulbs out to replace with LED.

There are more ext. cabs out there than crews, wonder why GM did that. I haven't been to a yard in what seems forever, but a buddy goes just about every day. I should ask him bout getting some of these. He listed on evilbay...
