I've been watching for old stock gaskets to turn up and haven't seen any.
The stock foam gaskets were made from Neoprene or a Neoprene and EPDM mix. Both of those are UV and water resistant. I'll most likely buy a sheet of foam on McMaster Carr and hand cut it to make a new gasket.

If someone can waterjet or laser cut that stuff I'll be glad to draw it out in CAD and supply a DXF file so they can make reproductions.
That would be cool. I’ve considered buying a piece of neoprene myself and making one. The original is still in good shape and I’m going to treat it with this product from 3 in 1. It’s also great for all rubber seals.

Let us know how that product does. I thought about making a mold and trying to pour some type of silicone in there and make one that way, but have yet to get to that point. I’m still building the motor and tweaking on computer swaps and stuff. I plan on paint and body when the drivetrain is finished though

If your going that far, why not a new RZ lens w/new gasket. Again, mine seems fine, I’ll just be using this yearly to preserve. Yes, expensive, but if your doing body and paint.

Yeah your right. I’ve had this truck 23 years, and want to bring it back to top notch. I kept it that way till I screwed up and started working out of it ten years ago.
Well just for you, I went and did a test. I recently grabbed a couple of gaskets at the local P&P. Here they are.

And here is pictures of them, but only one of them treated. It absolutely brought it back to “life”. The top edge that probably takes most of the abuse was pretty much hardened, after one treatment, it is much softer. It also soaks into gasket providing protection from moisture along with UV protection. I’m going to let it dry and treat again tomorrow.

Hopefully you can see diffence. Again, bottom 2 pictures show the 2 gaskets with only the top gasket treated.
