Hi all,

Time for a new battery for the trusty o'l Tahoe. Time to get rid of these crappy Optima batteries and get something else.
The last three Optima's have died right as the warranty runs out.
This latest one is fine in warmer weather but if it gets cold it will not turn over the truck after only 24 hours of sitting. The last three have all done this.

Needs to be side post and top post combo.

I am thinking Interstate at this point. Any other good ones out there?

You're in luck! This same topic was discussed on this forum last week - 6 pages worth.... Here it is:

Same issue, last red top I bought died in 2007. We were putting blue tops in all of our equipment and had nothing but issues. Love Walmart batteries, i can’t kill them

I have run red tops for decades and they used to be great but the last three, actually five, dy after 2-3 years or when the warranty has run out.
They also do not do well in the cold.
I just did a ful AGM repair and change on mine and a week later it won't survive a 20 degree night.

Look like Walmart for me!

Ok, so this looks like what I need group wise

EverStart Maxx Lead Acid Automotive Battery, Group Size 78N (12 Volt/800 CCA)

but I do need side and top terminal. Any suggestions on what group that might be? I'll keep looking!
