Stumpy seats take two...

Ran across these cheap, not so good looking seats, with the idea of taking the upholstery off the Denali seats, and putting it on these. The driver seat is full power, and the passenger side is manual.

The driver seat has some issues, but after confirming all the motors worked, I brought them home. After digging into it, I actually wound up taking the electronics out of the tan seat, and put it all in the Denali seat. Was real easy, and beat the heck out of pulling the seat covers.

Debating on what to do with the passenger seat. The Denali passenger has one bad motor, but other than that is fine, so I could try to get a replacement, or swap upholstery on that one. The latter option being free, but could be a pain. I'll check it out tomorrow.

For now I'm thrilled to have a fully functioning driver seat, ready to be installed.

Ran across new "leather" upholstery for the jump seat lid on Amazon for $15, so I jumped on it.

Got it wrapped last night. I'm no professional, but turned out alright. I'm hoping some time in the sun, will flatten the wrinkles out.

Haven't seen any upholstery where you could buy just for the jump seat, so I think I'm going to SEM paint the rest of the tan, so it'll all be black.

Suppose to pick up some 2" square tubing this weekend, that I'll use to mount the seats. Looking forward to getting them in.

Finally some progress on getting these seats installed. Picked up a 10' stick of 2" square tubing, to make the mounts out of. For $30 you can't beat the price.

Driver seat just sitting in, on one runner, with the inner propped up.

The seat is raised a little here, once I get the power hooked up, it will be able to go a little lower, but this is already really close to "ride height".

The inner track on the seat is about 1.25" longer than the outer. With this being a regular cab, I cut an inch off the longer track, so the seat can mount as far back as possible. The gas tank hump is the limiting factor here.

Outer runner bolted down to the factory holes, with the inner runner, just sitting in it's approximate location.

As you can see, it just misses the flat spot in the back. I'll weld that bracket to the side of the tube, and will serve as the rear mounting point.

This is turning out much easier than I thought it was going to be. Hope to get the driver seat fully mounted tomorrow, and at least get a good start on the passenger side. The seat tracks require a little surgical demo, to remove a few rivets, that get used for mounting bolts, and both outer tracks have a flange that sticks out, that needs to be cut off, to clear the seat belt assembly.

The center jump seat will take some thought, so it doesn't get in the way of changing gears. I can already see, the left cup holder will have to be empty, so nothing hinders shifting.

Very pleased with it so far.

Passenger seat is in, but it was not as simple as mirroring the driver side...

Apparently the trans hump is offset to the passenger side, about 2". That made things a little interesting, but got it in. I'll work on the jump seat next weekend.

Thank you!

I hope to have some new black carpet soon, and will be getting some more SEM interior paint as well. Also, I'm dreading it, but I need to spray the dash with satin clear. It's just too damn shiny, and it bugs me.

Everything bolted in finally, and ready to roll...sort of.

Got some black carpet on the way, and a few cans of SEM paint, so it'll all have to come back out, one more time.

Haven't even been down the road in it yet, but just sitting in it, it's already way more comfortable than the old bench seat.

I have that same carpet in mine. It has been great but many of those wrinkles didn't come out on their own. You might want to try heating/stretching if that is important to you - maybe Sewlow would know more about this.
