These aftermarket seats, I bought new for my 88 about 8 years ago, are helluva lot more comfortable than the bench seat that was in it when I bought the truck back in '02.

I used to get a back ache after driving for a few minutes with it.
What kind of seats are those? My '88 needs new seat because the owm bench seat is shot...

Not truck seats, but for most comfortable, 1985 LeSabre Collector Editions were up there.

Not having seats I like has been holding up the interior refresh in my 92 rcsb. Checked out a new Denali today and wasn’t too impressed with the comfort. Seems like the best bet is 90s cars, later 400s and 800s. Tough to find them in good condition. I’ll have to check the local pullapart and look for some caddy seats as a possibility.

I was at the fair yesterday and sat in a Shelby F150. It had the most comfortable truck seat I've ever sat in. I've been pondering a long time on what kind of seats I wanted to fit into my 92 GMC regular cab. What's everyone's opinion on the most comfortable seat you've found? I want something I can take a long trip in without being in pain. Plus I'm 6'4 so the GM regular cabs aren't very friendly to begin with. I saw one guy fit Camaro SS seats in his and they looked pretty nice.
Lincoln towncar seats there like pillows . Your like on a couch that floats on the freeway awesome feeling, plus the airbag suspension is a plus.

I mentioned a few months ago that I was hoping to swap the crappy factory console with a decent center seat. I did eventually accomplish this. So between the GMT400 Escalade seats now resides a jump seat from a more recent GM pickup (2008? 2009? I forget now)

To make it fit, I removed the fold-down armrests from the Escalade seats, and I had to slot the mounting holes for the floor bolts so that both outboard seats move about 1/2" outward, for a total of 1" of added space between them. I bought an adapter bracket from obsoutpost.com intended for gen 3 center seats. It's a very solid, well-made piece, but it needed some modifications because I insisted on retaining the factory GMT400 seat belt buckles without relocating their anchors.

Everything works beautifully. I now have a much nicer armrest when the seat is folded down, in addition to 3 more PROPER cupholders in place of the 1.5 garbage ones in the old console (and another bonus 2 cupholders for the rear seats). There's prodigious amounts of storage in both the folded seatback and the bottom of the seat that makes the old console seem like a dinky little lunchbox. Plus I can now accommodate a 9th person in my Suburban.

For anyone worried about the structural integrity of the modifications, I got rear-ended violently the day after I installed that center seat. The Volvo wagon that hit me was going fast enough to lift the entire rear end of the Suburban and knock it aside. All 3 front seats had occupants at the time. All 3 of us were fine, and the seats survived without issues. The Volvo was a total loss. The Suburban's rear bumper was wrecked and needed replacing, but that's about it.
