They're probably going to be much brighter than what you're used to, but the pattern will not be anywhere near as good as with halogen bulbs. Those dual sided LEDs will put light in places it shouldn't be. Even if the LEDs are the same distance from the back of the reflector as a halogen filament, you can't replicate the 360 degree output of a filament with a dual sided LED board. IMO it's kind of a shame to put those in a set of Artebs, you're giving up the major advantage of the better halogen reflector and lens design.

You can test this by driving down a road with reflective signs at night. Do it with halogens installed first, then with the LEDs. You'll notice that the reflective finish on the street signs will be bouncing way more light back at you with the LEDs, even if the reflectors are adjusted properly and the beams are focused low on the road.

I'm not sure they will be used together with the Artebs. I'm going to test the LED's with the Artebs for sure, but if I cant get a fairly sharp hockey stick light patern with them I'm going with High Output halogen bulbs. That also has the added benefit of not being illegal... But for now the LED's are going in the stock reflectors, IF I can get them set up to not blind my fellow motorists. :) And IF I can get the Headlights off of the truck

Yeah....what then would be the point of the Artebs if one is going to ruin the light pattern and throw. Just my $.03, as usual, for these 'conversion' things.
Check out Artebs https://www.gmt400.com/threads/arteb-brazil-gmt400-headlight-users-thread.56596/page-10

What bulbs or 'bulb things' are in those lamp housings?

Which housings, the Artebs? Same as a U.S. market GMT400 composite - 9005 & 9006. Also has a small socket that you could fit a 194 in as a "city light." They're E-code housings and seem pretty neat.

Edit - or, my bad, you were asking about the.. uh.. lights in the bottom pic once I expanded the quote. That makes more sense, as I figured you were already fully up to speed on the Arteb stuff so I was puzzled why you seemed to be asking about them.

I agree 100%, dont ruin AREBS by throwing HIDs or LEDs in them. I have 9011's in the high beams and Phillips 9006 in the low beam

Cool...I would think the light above the cutoff on your picture would be the reflection off the snow, then. Photos are hard to get an accurate depiction of what the human ocular system interprets. The Lord knows I took a few million pictures during my experimentation. The bulbs you use are what I chose. I do use Osrams as well if that's what I have at the time of need. Currently, I have a Lazer + 130% in my Dyna.

The light above the 'cutoff' that I think your seeing is actually part of the desired effect with Artebs, along with the much improved spread on the ground. The angled cutoffs are designed to lay the light away from oncoming traffic but shine more toward the ditch where depressed critters are waiting jump in front the largest truck they can find.
