I’ve never seen a regular bed dump bed before! That’s cool!Hi everyone. Here's my 1989 C2500 Cheyenne. I personally ordered it new for my family machine-shop business where it spent 25 years before coming home with me to retire to the farm. The window sticker (still have it) says it's "5.6L Engine with Electronic Fuel Injection." I'm guessing that just means 5.7 TBI. It was ordered with a 3 speed automatic because I was told at the time that the four-speed overdrive automatic was not as durable. It has the G80 locking differential with a 3.73 ratio. Upcharge-upgrades include HD radiator / transmission cooler / engine oil cooler, AC and Cruise, (both still work), swing-out rear vent windows and rear-seat-delete. An aftermarket dump-bed was added immediately upon delivery.
It's never been wrecked, but took the dings, scrapes, and occasional whallops you'd expect to get on an intermittent-use general-purpose machine-shop pickup that was often driven by hired help. It hauled some heavy loads but not abused and was properly maintained on a schedule. It was stored outside in Piedmont NC and saw very very few snowy roads. It has been repainted twice (currently "Volvo Truck White"), and it got a new headliner and seat re-covering right before it came home with me. It currently has 149k miles.

I only found out a year or two ago that GMT400s were "a thing" with a growing fan-base of enthusiast/hobbyist folks enjoying re-habbing these trucks. I discovered this website researching an itch I have to put together a 4wd flatbed K2500... (still studying) Probably another 5.7 TBI for redundancy and guessing the simplest-possible gasser is well-suited to my low-rev rambling around the farm.
Thanks. This place looks like fun.
That’s the same color combo as my first GMT400! Dark Indigo Metallic over Light Autumnwood with tan interior. Mine was a ‘94 Chevy K1500 ECSB Z71. My first big boy purchase at 26 YO. Got her brand new off the lot for 24K. Man, I love that color and my old truck. I should never have gotten rid of it years ago. She’s the reason I bought the truck in my profile pic two years ago. Beautiful truck! Thanks for sharing. This is Wilson, my 1998 GMC Sierra C1500. It has the 5.7, auto and 3.42 gears. Currently just over 202k miles. My dad purchased new and I bought it off him a couple of years ago because I knew he took good care of it, and I was just getting into needing a truck to haul stuff. Little did I know I’d fall in love with it. It’s basically all original with the exception of dual exhaust. Still runs beautifully! Has the dings, scratches and paint fading expected of a nearly 25 year old truck, but still looks good to me. Think I’ll keep it mostly stock for now.
haha!My trucks only get named when something breaks.
Name usually includes mother and ***ker in it.
