It was actually Dave, both times. He's the only officer I've ever seen in Horton.

He used to be a Tonganoxie police officer. That's how I know of him.
Maybe he's got the Roscoe P Coltrane thing working.... and I am not referring to a dually in Oklahoma!
The city of Bellaire in the Houston, Texas area used to have a bunch of officers that really got off on harassing minorities, kids, anyone else they could hassle and get away with it. I knew people who would drive WAY OUTTA their way to avoid going through there. Sugar Land and Meadows Place are two other suburbs in this area of the state that have bad cops; been harassed in both towns while doing nothing but driving or riding in an old truck. This is part of why I have the Blue Lives Matter Texas stickers on both my trucks; my cousin who works for the Sugar Land city fleet shop got them from one of his co-workers and gave them to me a few years ago.

Well, the replacement for the AR5 has arrived.

Meet my brand new Tremec T-56 Magnum-F, the highest torque rated 6 speed transmission, ever made! At 700ftlbs capacity.

I've been debating going back to a 4L80E / TH400, but just couldn't convince myself to do it, especially after cutting a hole in my floor for a manual trans swap.

I have a feeling, it'll be pretty hard to break this one.

Reading through this post and saw this T56 Magnum, very cool BTW and thought I’d share a cool deal a friend snagged.

Buddy building a ‘67 Chevelle was planning to go old school big block with manual trans and shooting for ~800HP naturally aspirated. His dad (has a hotrod shop) ran into another buddy that owns salvage yard and had a 6.2LT/6 speed out of late model low mile Camaro and offered a screaming deal on it to him. My buddy snagged the combo for $7,500 and in discussions with Tremec learned that the T56F uses the main shafts and gears from the T6060 out the exact type Camaro power train he captured.

That’s one killer transmission you got there!

Your buddy definitely got a good deal! That 67 Chevelle is going to scoot!

I have a 2020 Camaro with the LT1 / 6 Speed TR-6060, I really really really like how that car shifts under power. Originally was looking at 6060 transmissions, but didn't want to do a two piece driveshaft in my truck, given the bolt on output of the 6060, so found the T-56 MagnumF to be the next best thing. Only thing I don't like is the MagnumF uses a 31 spline ford output, for a GM application.

Yeah the bolt on output and shifter location was something my buddy was concerned about (very old school) but he found kit to position shifter in the right place and had a slip yoke laying around from a past ‘47 Chevy street rod project he didn’t use. He’s thinking cam/lifters and tune to bump HP but I’ve already got him pricing twin turbo kits from On3 for the Chevelles. Either way it’s gonna be quick and driven hard and we plan to do some of the drag and drive events, Power Tour etc. with it. Build them to drive and take a beating is our motto :head3:

Some random pictures of installing the oil pump, oil pickup, gm muscle car oil pan, timing chain guide, new gm timing chain, GM LS9 cam and GM 3 bolt conversion 4x cam gear and cam timing.

Stopped for the night at a complete shortblock.
