Here is one those, "is this for real" moments. When the water pump went out, I replaced the radiator hoses and belt. The burb has 70 miles on it since then and I just saw this..... The belt has cut a groove in the lower radiator hose. Not leaking but something else that will need to be replaced.

Been a minute and then some. Like everyone else....busy busy. I have done a couple of things. Took both driveshafts to the shop and had the all the U-joints replaced and shafts balanced.

Back in February I bought a RedHead steering gear for the burb. This is my second gear from them. The first went in my 2 Door and it had been great. I unpackaged the new one so I could send my core back for a refund. That has been about two months ago. I set the new gear inside the burb, fittings up and today I opened the door to a puddle of fluid underneath the gear. Best I can tell it is leaking out of the seal where the steering shaft connects. I emailed Red Head with some pics...... hopefully there will be another one coming this way soon.

Actually had a few hours to call my own today and spent a little time working on the burb. I decided a few weeks ago to send both front and rear differentials to be rebuilt. They were both on the floor and both had 209K+ miles. Both have been completely rebuilt with all new parts. I stuck with the 4.10 gears and retired the G80 in favor of a Detroit TrueTrac. East Coast Gear in Louisburg, NC did the work and they also pressed in the new case bushings in the front for me.

Rear springs are buck under the truck, as well as, the 14 Bolt. I replaced the rear transfer case seal with a new GM unit before sliding the driveshaft back into place.

Replace both knock sensors with new GM units since they were so easy to get to. Pulled the power steering pump and it is draining. The pump is headed out to Turn One next week to be rebuilt. Decided this was a good stopping point.......gotta go hard boil some eggs for my girls to decorate. Happy Easter everybody!

And replaced the O-ring on the oil filter adapter that was leaking or almost running out.

I feel like I have turned a corner and finally starting to reassemble instead of disassemble. I was going to try replacing a few seals in the existing hydroboost........ ultimately decided not to fool with it and purchased a brand new not reman Bosch unit to replace the existing. Since it was new there was no core so now I have a spare to rebuild. For the money, I sincerely hope the Bosch unit is trouble free for a long.......long......long time. While I had it off I went ahead and snagged an OEM brake light switch.
