I would lower the truck first and then decide of you want to do more. That's going to change the look a lot all by itself.

Losing the front plate will be nice. You don't have to have one, even when you have one now?
Front plate is required in Illinois, but many people get by without one. Not having it gives law enforcement a reason to pull you over, but in my experience if they want to do that, they're going to.

Needs new bumpers anyways, but I see your point. I have a like-new bumper similar to mine ready to go. Just needs new impact strips and a polish. The plate is on there since I have the bracket anyways.

I went back and forth with bump strips, wheel arch trim, chrome without bump strips, rear bumper covers, 1500 emblem, etc. After getting the truck painted, I and a lot of others chose full trim.

Here's what it looked like with no side trim or emblems

Another consideration, without bump strips, you're running the risk of door dings. Personally I'd go with all chrome and bump strips. The truck just looked naked without :33:

Yup, people have no respect for other people's property, so door dings will happen (unless every time you park it you have a snarling pit bull/rottweiler in the cab!). Many times at work (Walmart) we park next to a cart corral so at least one side is protected. Also makes it easier to find the truck (even Mr.21 feet can get hidden in a crowded parking lot).

Yeah I get what you’re saying. There is something to be said about the bump strips. It does break up all the white on the truck. I see that, but man I don’t really like it, especially the cheap LMC stuff that’s on there now. If I could find a correct set (emblem attached to the molding) I’d be more likely to run it. I’ve settled on removing it for now. I’ve got an idea to help add some color/break up the flow later on.

I feel like if I have the side bump strips, they should be present on the bumpers too. If not, they shouldn’t be on the bumper to be consistent.

Mr 21 feet - that’s pretty great!! I usually park by the cart returns as well. If I can get something way at the back I will usually park there. If I have the W/T I pull up like I own the place.
