I'm back I got the whole engine together finally pulled all belt drive and shoved that on there.
Turns out I didn't even have to change the balancer or crank pulley. I thought the old 350 crank pulley from the Camaro would have to be used. but I didn't realize the balancer on that car was thicker than the truck and that the vortec motor was in farther so I stuck it back on qnd it lined up perfectly.

I didn't realize this also but the Camaro accessories drive is lower.

The F-car and B-car share the same accessory setup. It is lower and wider. Even a TBI car accessory setup will clear a TPI or intake with a forward facing throttle body. Used a few of them on trucks and S10s years ago for TPI swaps.

I'm not exactly sure which one it is. I did have a 92 roadmaster motor do it could've been off of that.
But have I no use for that if the crank pulley from the original lines up

Fan looks right to me, the GM serpentine setups use a reverse rotation water pump. Fan and water pump turn CCW viewed from the front, while the crankshaft turns CW.
I'm getting ready to say it looks right to me. I didn't take it apart or anything.i just took it off the other water pump because that one for the truck did not have the hole in the top for the bypass that I needed.

Plus the other one has the pulley for an electric pump set up for the turd gen I had.

thats all thats important :) I dont have enough time underhood my 96 to know intuitively which way that fan goes and I didnt know if they had done a ford in these years or not. (Serpentine setup but not all did reverse rotation so then it got year-model-engine dependent because ford
).

Here's a little bit of an update on the vortec 350. I ain't had much time to work on it since I wanted to take a break and start messing around with the split bumper again.

So part of the reason the engine failed I think.the knock sensor wire was severed from corrosion and heat. I was wondering why it was making the timing jump around.

The motor is ready to drop in tomorrow.
I went threw the motor again and decided to run my old stage 2 necromancer cam 498/503 lift . I paid some meth head 50 bucks to reprogram the prom to handle the non existent vacuum the computer is trying to read.

New springs offset keepers comp retainers hardened steel rockers and push rods.so I've got about 1500 into the swap. I fired that motor over finally and she was fine no smoke or loss of compression no noise or anything 45 psi on the gauge and it runs 195 steady.

Here's that stage 2 necromancer cam. I'm not exactly sure what grind this cam is,but it's got about the right lift pattern for vortec heads since they stall at about 500 to 550 lift.
