Bought a garage door opener at the junkyard today and for some reason it won’t program. Holding the 2 outer buttons doesn’t do anything and the light stays solid. It has orange, black, and white wires. Any help would be appreciated

How long did you hold the two buttons together? It needs 20 seconds minimum to enter program mode. 30 seconds will "factory reset" it, might try that. What did you pull it out of? I'm used to seeing them with orange, green, and purple/yellow. In that order. Hot, illumination, ground respectively.

Did anyone ever help get this resolved? I snagged an overhead console from a 99 Tahoe Limited but there’s an extra brown wire… my 97 Sierra has the orange and black. Any help on where the brown leads to? See pic.

Also, there is a pretty distinct difference in the sizes of the two overhead consoles too, so it’s not quite as drag-and-drop as I thought it would be…

Can anyone confirm?

Never ended up getting it to work. I believe I had it hooked up right but for some reason would never program.

i had issues as well initially. the link has a comment with the homelink instructions. basically i had to do both sets of instructions, i had to train the homelink button to my remoted, then i had to do the rolling code procedure.
