Mine has 4 bolt holes at the water neck. Mine is off a similar era 6.2L. It had the external remote mounted Ford IAC.
Alright. I could only see the two on your picture in the first post. Any idea why the PPED forum stated that a pre-96 neck and hose was a requirement? The Vortec water neck and hose fit my manifold perfectly.

No idea on that. My OE neck fit perfectly as did the hose as well. Even if it only had 2 straight across bolts, the 92 Caprice TBI water neck also fits and allows the stock hose to be reused. I used the Caprice neck with both a carb dual plane when I ran my L31 with a carb for a year and the marine PFI dual plane.

My injectors seem to be short by 1/8”. The hole in the manifold is about 1/8” larger circumference as well. The fuel pressure explanation would make a lot of sense if there were no clips holding it up at a set height in the rail, but with no movement allowed by the clip..I don’t yet see how it will push its way down and seal at the manifold. It’s as if a cup is missing from the intake.

Is the plenum torqued into place?

No the plentum is just sitting on the intake with some bolts loosely aligning it, but with the plentum gasket removed slowing it to sit flush. I did go bold last night, and took the fuel rail in my hands with thumbs under the cross rail, and gently applied some force. When I reinstalled it did feel better, but when I went further on a second pass the results were negative. I got it to where the tabs of the rail are perfectly flat on the top of the intake, and back to the original improved level of the first pass. So I suppose I just need to keep fitteling, and probably install new orings as previously suggested. There are two injector designs in the mercruiser schematic. Any idea on identifying which I have without an ESN?

I have only seen one design of injectors on this style of manifold. The dual planes used the short Pico style and these used a normal tall injector.

Still not back to 100%, but I ordered Felpro 1003s and ARP 234-4301 head studs. Hopefully by the time they arrive Friday, I will feel well enough to put this thing back together.

Now I’m rethinking my Mahle bolts. I think the threads in these blocks are round? There’s mention of round and square threads on summit. I’d hoped a set of arp available for my motor.
