That little stop puzzles me. It looks like this...

...so I'm wondering how it comes out?

I don’t envy the cup removal job, pulling press fit stuff out, one side at a time IS NOT FUN. Especially when it’s aluminum and you can’t manhandle it.

Do you have 2 similarly sized screwdrivers or something you can leverage in both grooves at the same time? At least enough to get a 2 finger puller in it?

You are one talented mechanic ! I'm jealous.
I appreciate that! There's some creative thinking involved to working on vehicles, sometimes, but having the right tools helps tremendously. They cost money but save a lot of time and headache.

I think I'm just going to buy another sleeve. It's maybe $40 (new from GM) and just not worth any more hassle on this one.

Don't know how to explain it, but felt like adjuster wasn't pressing the cup out anymore. So I flipped the housing over and noticed there was some play between adjuster and cup. So I said F it and just tucked a puller inside the space between adjuster and cup and gave it even, soft hammers about eight times until the cup came out.

So the adjuster pretty much came right out after that. I think it won't push out the cup all the way, but only most of the way. Guess what? WHERE THE F IS THE BOTTOM OF THAT STOP!?

So the bottom of the stop is inside a groove next to the other threaded sleeve in the housing. I guess that threaded sleeve is pressed into the housing, but do I want to chance pressing it out?
