With the 0411 ecu im wondering if there is a way to have Torque read the oil pressure.
Torque does come up with two options but neither will work with the current sensor on the block.
Would a 5.3ls sender work if i can find one that will plug in?
The oil pressure sensor on these trucks goes to the gauges and the gauges only. Not possible to read it through torque.

If you want to display it separate of the dash in the cab you'll have to buy an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and tap it into the sender location with a t fitting.

I have read that it does not go through the ecu but Torque will read things that go to the cluster but you need to use a command? like 12 or 15 or 3 for the PID and then figure out the rest of what is needed. I also read something about using AZT for oil pressure.

Another question.
My suburban came with remote door locks but no fobs. Can i still get the regular fobs and program them as usual or do i need to get them for a 2005 express van?

Regular key fob. The keyless system is entirely separate from the ecu. Boost auto parts makes some nice looking ones

411 pcm swap and CA smog

Hey guys... Im reposting here and there im hopes I can get an answer here, & hopefully help sum1 else out...

Has any1 had any issue passing smog tests in CA after the 411 swap..? I heard that it will not pass because the pcm will read as a 02 chevy express van... And I think just on looks... That in CA u can not swap pcms... I mean sure I could just swap my old black box in but c'mon re-pinning once is hard enough im not trying to do this every time im going to smog... so looking 2 hear back from u guys especially u Californians...
Hi, I live in Los Ángeles, I want to do the 411 swap, where you able to get your truck to pass smog?

If you register it in another state, yes. It's not going to come up as a GMT400 when the ref plugs into it.

Really? I would think it would be just fine if you copied the VIN and other pertinent data over.

Ya know what, this sounds like a good science experiment for me. Let me try to flash my VIN into my 1500 tonight and see if a generic scan tool doesn't just use that alone to decide what platform the vehicle is and report back. If I forget, feel free to ping me.
