The Kia one that's auto dim w compass and no homelink is made by Gentex. They make em for almost everybody. It's only a 2 wire hookup. Ignition hot, and body ground that's it. Then likely you need to do a compass swing in an empty parking lot to calibrate it. That's it. My new yorker one required degaussing the screws "de magnetizing". Then I had to point it magnetic north and set C1, and magnetic south and set C2. Then drive in a circle to verify it's working correctly. Note in my pic the display says C. It's because its asking to be calibrated.
The Kia homelink mirror is ignition hot, body ground, and battery hot for homelink memory. This setup allows for the garage buttons to work only when ignition is switched on, but allows it to retain signal memory. I have both of these mirrors. I couldent pass up a deal like $15 each. I think TascaParts wanted $19 each for homelink ones. Still a screaming deal.
Gonna put one in my 2022 maverick, one in my 07 mustang GT. One in my 88 Daytona shelby. And probably one in my 94 silverado. The new yorker overheads electronics are starting to fail and act wonky. The compass requires a recal every few months as it wierds out, ditto for the temp. I have another Chrysler new yorker temp probe I will plug in and see if it fixes it. If not, I will remove the display, and blank the hole off leaving the console up there, and just install the kia mirror.
So yes I have 4 of these on my shop parts shelf, and a 5th one as a spare. 3 are homelink, and 2 are not. Deal like that, I bought several and saved on shipping lol
