I think the diagram is mislabeled because your wires look like the ones I used in the first post. Also, the diagram is upside down compared to your picture. (Tan on top vs tan on bottom.) The Tan, Blue w/ black stripe, skinny black, and grey wires can be removed then you’ll have the wires you need left. Here’s a corrected diagram for your wire colors.
Awesome thanks for the quick response.

I'll try it out tommorow. And keep you posted.

Great post '

Adding AUX to 88-94 Stock Stereo

Do you know where I can get a diagram for a model 16075071 delco ? Like the one you posted for the control data module 16072780. I have been searching w/o luck.

I wanted to add this bluetooth module as an option for this type of installation. Just installed it and it works great.

It still doesn't work for phone calls, but what it does have is a 12V output wire(normally used to turn an amp on) that can be used to trigger "tape deck" operation. So no switch is necessary. It will play radio normally, even if you are connected to the bluetooth. It only energizes the 12V on the blue wire if you press play on something on your phone.

Redlt4, I'm curious if gps from your phone works with your setup? So your setup only starts bluetooth when you play something on your phone? When you stop whatever is playing, does it go right back to the radio? One last question, did you use the constant power or an ignition source from key.

I plan on attempting this with my 94' Blazer. i found this module that has a microphone input for hands-free calling will update soon.

Edit: Works great. I advise to shop around for a good lavalier microphone.

Hey guys not trying to revive a dead thread but i did this mod in my truck and the audio isn’t bad per say. it’s pretty good but obv not on par with a new vehicle. just wondering if u had any input if putting better speakers would help or if the limiting factor is just the stock amp.

I found the stock amp to sound better than the Alpine amp that was in my truck. If you're using the stock speakers, you can upgrade the sound quality by throwing them in the trash and putting Infinity plate 4x6's in their place (

)

Beyond that, it's an old truck. The listening position and speaker locations are not ideal in any way, nor is the noisy environment that is a running and rolling vehicle.

Those speakers are the ticket then. I'm pretty impressed with them, sure beats the 1 way jobs the factory gave us.
